Below is a list of the most common questions we get regarding the career opportunity.

Do I need to have experience selling insurance?

No. At FPG there is never any prior experience required to get started. Simply be 18+ to get started and follow the instructions below. If you are coachable, possess a strong work ethic, and are able to follow a proven system—you should be very successful in this business!

What will I need to do to get started?

Register for your pre-certification course (required to sell life insurance) through your referring MGA and meet all requirements to then be approved for the life and annuities insurance exam.

What will be required of me for testing?

You will be required to pass a state Life and Health Insurance Licensure Examination under the state in which you wish to sell.

How do I register for the exam?

You must pass the exam to be appointed with Lincoln Heritage. Each state takes approximately 10-14 business days to process the license. You can check the status of your license online.

How much will it cost to get started?

General cost for licensing* is as follows**:

  • Test: approximately $50
  • Fingerprints: $70
  • State Licensure: $25

*All fees are estimated and subject to change.
**Every agent should save all receipts for tax purposes.

What is required to begin my contract with Financial Providence Group?

a. Printed physical copy of license once your license shows “approved” online.
b. Upon completing your contract, please have the following available:

  • One-time fee of $50 for business cards and appointment fee
  • Professional email for your business
  • Voided check for direct deposit
  • Physical copy of insurance license

Complete each contract page, including the New Agent Data Sheet and all additional documents. After contract submission it takes approximately 1-3 business days to receive your agent number. Once received, you can begin building your own client base.

Business cards, marketing materials, and paperwork are provided free of charge once business is submitted.

What kind of training will be provided, and when?

During this time, you will begin field-shadowing an agent, role playing, attending meetings, receiving hands-on training, participating in conference calls, and getting to know the FPG family of agents during this waiting period.
